Banking on India’s aggressive renewable energy targets, ACEN Corp., the renewable energy arm of the Ayala Group, is eyeing to sustain its growing portfolio in India as it surpasses 2,100 megawatts (MW) of capacity from operating and planned projects in the country.

“India has become a cornerstone of our regional renewables strategy. Its goal of 500 gigawatts of renewable capacity by 2030, supported by strong policies, creates a solid foundation for long-term investment,” ACEN International CEO Patrice Clausse said in a Monday stock exchange disclosure.

Active projects include three solar farms — Sitara Solar with 140 MW direct current, Paryapt Solar with 70 MW, and Masaya Solar with 420 MW — as well as hybrid wind-solar developments like the partially commissioned Optima project in Maharashtra, which has 153 MW of capacity.

Upcoming projects include a 420-MW solar farm and two renewable energy projects totaling 806 MW in Rajasthan, plus a 120-MW wind farm in Karnataka. These have power purchase deals with major Indian companies like SECI, SJVN, NHPC, and NTPC.

Since entering India in 2019, ACEN has partnered with UPC Renewables and Yanara, formerly BrightNight India.

Together, they operate 630 MW and have more projects planned in Rajasthan, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.

“India stands out for its scale, innovation, and openness to global collaboration. We look forward to continuing our partnerships and supporting India’s clean energy goals for years to come,” Clausse said.
