President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday urged Filipinos to make full use of the eGovPH, describing the user-friendly application as similar to using the social networking site Facebook.
The eGOV Super app is a unified online platform that integrates multiple government services into a virtual one-stop shop, making transactions easier and more convenient for the public.
According to Marcos, during the app’s development, he instructed the team to simplify its interface so that even non-tech-savvy users could navigate it without difficulty.
“I made sure that while the team is conceptualizing the code, I told the team that they must simplify it. It should be as easy as using Facebook,” the President said in the BBM Podcast Episode 3 aired recently.
A government study has estimated that 89 million Filipinos use Facebook.
“If a Filipino can use Facebook, then they can also utilize the eGov app,” Marcos said, adding that users need no tutoring to access the platform.
The eGovPH app consolidates several government services into a single mobile platform, aligning with Marcos’ directive to improve public service delivery.
“Because that’s the only way to do it. You cannot operate in 2025 using the brick-and-mortar application forms that need to be filled out in offices,” he said.
“Huwag na kayong pupunta sa opisina. ‘Yung mga nakakatanda, ‘yung mga hindi masyadong sanay sa computer, kahit na grade school (student), alam na nilang gawin ‘yan,” he added.
The Chief Executive reiterated the government’s program to expand online transactions, stressing that the Philippines must achieve a higher level of digitalization to remain competitive and conduct business with other countries.
“It’s (absolutely) imperative now that children know how to use a computer, they know how to use the internet, and they know how to do work on the internet. Hindi na puwedeng hindi. It’s not an option anymore,” Marcos said.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) reported last month that the newly launched eGov app has over 14 million unique users.
The app connects to around 70 government agencies, enabling users to renew a driver’s license from home in less than 10 minutes, apply for an e-Visa, use e-Travel for seamless arrivals, and access various other government services.
