BENGALURU, India — The trip of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos with her husband, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., felt nothing short of “full of inspiration” as her busy schedule was filled with the vibrant culture of Bengaluru.
Before the second leg of the five-day state visit, the First Couple thanked the Philippine Embassy in New Delhi for their efforts in making their visit as comfortable as possible.
“Thank you to the amazing team of the Philippine Embassy in India and the gracious hotel staff in New Delhi for making us feel so at home,” Mrs. Marcos said.
“Many thanks for the care and concern,” she added.
Upon their arrival in Bengaluru, the First Lady was welcomed into the heart of modern India, the country’s version of California’s Silicon Valley.
Art of Living tour
“My visit to the Art of Living International Center in Bengaluru was deeply inspiring. From free schools that empower first-generation learners to programs that uplift rural women, promote sustainability and support prisoner rehabilitation. Every one of their initiatives reflects a deep commitment to service and compassion,” she said.
She thanked her newfound friends, Gurudeve Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji and Ms. Bhanumathi Narasimhan Ji, for the warm welcome she received.
“The work you do is a powerful reminder of how peace, purpose and community can transform lives,” the First Lady said.
On Thursday evening, the governor of Karnataka hosted the First Couple. Karnataka is the province where Bengaluru is situated.
“Grateful to Honorable Governor Shri Thaawar Chand Gehlot for the lovely dinner,” she said.
“Bengaluru’s charm, culture and warm hospitality truly stole our hearts. What a beautiful way to wrap up this unforgettable state visit.”
