The local government of San Juan City on Thursday inaugurated the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center, a new facility designed to centralize national government services for residents.
In a statement, the local government said that the center was the first project of the mayor during his first week.
According to Representative Bel Zamora, the P1 billion needed for the center’s construction was secured from the national government starting in 2023.
She said additional funding has been earmarked to complete the remaining components of the building next year.
The six-story building features the Bagong Pilipinas eGov PH Serbisyo Hub and will eventually house other national government agencies.
It also includes a state-of-the-art, 876-seat Makabagong San Juan Theater, a barangay hall for Barangay St. Joseph, and an air-conditioned indoor basketball court.
