BAGUIO CITY — The Benguet Provincial Police has issued a road advisory informing motorists that 12 roads in the province remain closed due to weather-related obstructions.
Among the affected areas is Kennon Road at Camp 2, Twin Peaks in Tuba, Benguet, which remains impassable due to rockfall and debris. Another section of Kennon Road, located at the Mill Site in Camp 6, is also closed as soil still covers the tunnel entrance. Authorities also deemed the tunnel unsafe due to soil erosion along the shoulder where it lies.
The police also reported that the Concorda-Puguis Provincial Road and the Barangay Gaswiling — Kapangan Municipal Road are still not passable. In addition, eight barangay roads remain closed.
Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways — Cordillera announced that major roads such as Marcos Highway in Tuba, Benguet; the Asin–Nagalisan — San Pascual — La Union Boundary Road, which connects Tuba, Benguet to San Pascual, La Union; the Baguio — Bauang Road or Naguilian Road; the Benguet–Nueva Vizcaya Road; and the Baguio — Bontoc Road or Halsema Highway are all open to traffic.
However, the Talubin — Barlig — Natonin — Paracelis — Calaccad Road in Barlig, Mountain Province remains closed due to a rockslide. Clearing operations are ongoing, with equipment and personnel already deployed.
All national roads and bridges in the provinces of Abra, Apayao, Ifugao, and Kalinga are passable, including road access from the lowlands to Baguio City via Marcos Highway, Asin–Nagalisan Road, and Naguilian Road.
Motorists are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution, especially when traversing newly reopened roads. The DPWH warns that despite being passable, some sections may still pose risks due to debris, weakened shoulders, or ongoing clearing operations amid unstable weather conditions.
