Team Liquid PH wins battle of champions over ONIC at MSC

The Philippines emerged victorious via reverse sweep in the highly anticipated battle between reigning MPL champions Team Liquid PH and ONIC in the upper bracket semifinal of Group A at Mid Season Cup 2025 this Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

KarlTzy, Sanford, Sanji, Oheb, and Jaypee dropped the opening game against the star studded Indonesian powerhouse lineup led by Filipino jungler Kairi, who played the unorthodox core pick Aamon.

Team Liquid PH bounced back in Game 2, this time with KarlTzy leading with his trademark Lancelot backed by Gloo, Pharsa, Moskov, and the flexible Baxia, allowing the all-Filipino squad to tie the series in barely 15 minutes.

It was all Team Liquid PH in Game 3 with their Fredrinn, Lapu-Lapu, Valentina, Wanwan, and Gatotkaca pick. Kairi went back to his Aamon in ONIC's attempt to make a comeback, but it proved ineffective against the sustain heavy line of the MPL PH Season 15 champion.

Having gone 2-0 in the Group Stage, Team Liquid PH booked its spot in the Knockout Stage which brings them closer to winning the lion's share of the whopping $3,000,000 prize pool.
