In an unconventional operation, Peruvian police raided a suspected drug-dealing family's home with an officer disguised as the iconic Mexican superhero character "Chapulin Colorado."
Video released Friday, 18 July, shows the officer, dressed in the red costume, using a sledgehammer to break down a metal gate as fellow operatives stormed the two-story house. The unusual approach caught the suspects completely off guard.
Authorities reported the seizure of 1,524 packets of cocaine paste, nine bags of marijuana, and 45 bags of cocaine during the raid.
Colonel Pedro Rojas, head of the Green Squadron, said the choice of disguise was intentional, coinciding with the broadcast of a television series about Chapulin Colorado’s creator.
