Princess Catherine, the Princess of Wales, received an emotional welcome from the Wimbledon crowd on 12 July as she made her first appearance at the tournament since undergoing cancer treatment.
The princess entered Centre Court ahead of the women’s singles final, where she was met with a standing ovation from spectators. Visibly moved, she acknowledged the crowd with a soft smile and a brief wave before taking her seat in the Royal Box alongside All England Club chair Debbie Jevans.
Wearing a cream dress and the traditional Wimbledon ribbon, Princess Catherine greeted tennis legend Billie Jean King before presenting the Venus Rosewater Dish to champion Iga Swiatek and speaking to runner-up Amanda Anisimova.
This marks her latest public appearance since announcing her cancer remission in January. She first revealed her diagnosis and chemotherapy journey in March 2024, describing the process as emotionally challenging. The princess has since returned to royal duties, including Trooping the Colour and a French state banquet earlier this year.
