The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) on Wednesday turned over five new patient transport vehicles (PTVs) to various local government units and public institutions, supporting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s nationwide program to improve emergency response services.
The latest beneficiaries include the municipality of Benito Soliven in Isabela; San Pedro City in Laguna; the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP); Ospital ng Parañaque; and the Joint Task Force Unit Ilocos (JTUI) Headquarters.
“Each PTV we turn over is a step closer to making vital medical services more accessible to every Filipino,” PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco said.
San Pedro City Mayor Art Mercado said the new vehicle will benefit the city’s low-income communities, while former Congressman Gus Tambunting welcomed the boost to Ospital ng Parañaque’s emergency referrals.
“In emergency medical situations on campus, this vehicle could spell the difference between life and death,” said PUP official Dr. Anna Ruby Gapasin.
“This transport vehicle will greatly support our troop welfare and humanitarian missions, especially during calamities,” added 2nd Lt. Cassay Marie Chua of JTUI.
PAGCOR has donated 35 PTVs since February, complementing similar efforts by the Office of the President and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
