XPENG sets Phl launch for September

XPENG will formally enter the Philippine market in September, with the X9 seven-seater and L03 SUV coupe set to become the Chinese electric vehicle maker’s first local models.
The brand will make its debut through a public event where Filipino buyers can see both vehicles and learn how XPENG plans to establish its business in the country.
The date and venue have not been announced, while registration details will be released through the company’s local social media pages.
Local operations will be handled by XPENG Philippines, a direct subsidiary of the Guangzhou-based automaker. The unit will serve as the national sales and marketing company and will oversee distribution and retail operations.
This arrangement gives XPENG direct control of its local business as it enters a market where buyers already have a growing choice of electric vehicles from Chinese and other global brands.
It also places the responsibility for building the dealer and customer support network under the Philippine subsidiary.
The X9 will sit at the top of the initial lineup. XPENG describes it as an intelligent seven-seat vehicle intended for families, executives and professionals who want more cabin space and newer in-car technology. The model will serve as the brand’s flagship when local sales begin.
The L03 takes a different approach as an SUV coupe aimed at modern professionals. Its main features will include the company’s AI-based systems and software, although XPENG has yet to release details on the equipment that will be available in Philippine-market units.
Prices, variants, specifications and availability for the X9 and L03 will be announced at the September event. These details will determine how the two models will compare with the growing number of electric vehicles now offered locally.
XPENG was founded in 2014 and develops its own advanced driver-assistance system and in-car operating software. It also works on core vehicle systems such as its powertrains and electrical and electronic architecture.
The company now operates in more than 60 countries and regions, with over 380 stores outside China. Its overseas network covers Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Oceania and Latin America.
The Philippine debut follows XPENG’s earlier announcement that it would enter the market during the third quarter of 2026.
The September event will give local buyers their first proper look at the brand, but the more practical questions on price, range, charging and ownership support will have to wait until launch day.
