CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A police officer assigned in Angeles City was arrested on 1 July, after firing his gun indiscriminately during a drinking session with fellow police officers.
Irked by the incident, B/Gen. Rogelio “Pojie” Peñones, police director, immediately ordered the filing of cases against the suspect whose identity was not yet divulged publicly but the suspect is stationed in Angeles City.
In highlighting Police Regional Office 3’s uncompromising stand on internal discipline and accountability, Gen. Peñones warned in a string message that “There is no room in our organization for those who abuse the authority given to them. We are serious about cleaning our own ranks — discipline starts from within.”
