Two individuals were arrested by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation – Cebu District Office (NBI-CEBDO) in an entrapment operation in Talisay City, Cebu, on 27 June 2025, which led to the confiscation of approximately 50 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu."
NBI Director Jaime Santiago identified the suspects as Jaysper Vitulla, a resident of Barangay Tabunok, and Mark Anthony Navarette Toh, from Poblacion Rojaloca.
The two were apprehended in Purok Melchora, Molave Street, Barangay Tabunok, where authorities also discovered drug paraphernalia—including tooters, tin foils, and improvised burners—in a room allegedly used as a drug den.
The illegal drugs recovered were estimated to be worth P100,000.
The operation was conducted by a team of NBI agents led by SI IV Bienvenido Panican and SI III Agapito Gierran, with assistance from force multipliers.
The suspects are currently under the custody of the NBI and will face charges for violating Sections 5, 11, 12, and 15 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They will undergo inquest proceedings before the Talisay City Prosecutor’s Office.
Additional details regarding the suspects’ alleged activities and possible ties to wider drug networks have yet to be disclosed.
