Fyang Smith launched her highly anticipated album Forever Fyang—but the night’s most unforgettable moment wasn’t just about her soaring vocals or heartfelt ballads. It was the unmistakable chemistry between Fyang and her on-screen and onstage partner, JM Ibarra, that electrified the venue and left fans craving more.
Their duet of “Tayo Hanggang Dulo” was the emotional centerpiece of the night. As their voices harmonized under soft golden lights, the performance transcended acting and artistry—it felt deeply personal, a love story unfolding in real time. For Fyang, that connection was very real, and one that helped calm her nerves before the show.
In a candid backstage moment, Fyang shared how JM stepped in just when she needed it most. “We weren’t even assigned to the same dressing room,” she revealed. “But JM moved into mine because his was full. I told him I was nervous and he said, ‘Why would you be? You’ve got this. Everyone’s already here—this is your moment.’”
It wasn’t the first time JM had been her calm in the chaos. The duo, whose tandem has captivated fans both on television and at live shows, has developed an effortless ease onstage. “I think it’s just natural for us now,” Fyang explained. “We’ve performed in so many places—from provincial shows to international stages—that we’ve learned to trust each other completely.”
Among all the highlights of the evening, it was their duet that stood out for Fyang. “When I watched the playback, I thought, ‘Wow, we were so close!’ But I guess that’s just how we are now—comfortable, natural. It didn’t even feel like we were performing. It felt like we were just… there for each other.”
Still, Forever Fyang wasn’t only about her. JM had his own moment in the spotlight, performing a soulful rendition of TJ Monterde’s “Palagi.” Mid-performance, he held up his hand, subtly flashing a ring that instantly caught the attention of fans and fueled speculation about their off-screen relationship.
For her part, Fyang—also spotted wearing a ring throughout the event—remained evasive when pressed about its significance. “This is my ring,” she said with a coy smile, avoiding direct confirmation. And yet, the glances, the gestures, and the shared stage told a different story—one of comfort, support, and unspoken commitment.
