Post Consumer Brands has recalled thousands of boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds in the United States due to the potential presence of metal fragments, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The Class II recall, announced on 12 June 2025, involves 5,000 large boxes of the oat-and-honey cereal that had been set for distribution in California and Colorado. The affected packages contain two sealed bags inside 48-ounce boxes, identified with UPC 8 84912-01428 3 and best-if-used-by dates APR0926 RCA and APR1026 RCA.
A Class II recall means the product could cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” though the likelihood of serious harm is considered low.
Importantly, Post has confirmed that none of the recalled boxes reached store shelves, and no related illnesses or injuries have been reported. The company said it issued the recall out of an abundance of caution.
