At least 97 new members of the House of Representatives including 69 district representatives and 28 party-list group nominees will undergo a seminar before the convening of the 20th Congress on 28 July, according to a radio report on Friday.
The 20th Congress is expected to have around 317 lawmakers, including several first-time members of the House who will participate in a three-day orientation and seminar to prepare for their legislative duties.
House Secretary General Reginald Velasco said the newly elected lawmakers have been invited to attend an “Executive Course on Legislation,” which covers the process and creation of laws.
The first batch of the seminar will be held from 23 to 25 June, while the second batch is scheduled for 7 to 9 July.
During the course, incumbent Congressmen were also invited to share their legislative experience.
