The Philippines has granted Indian nationals visa-free access for short-term visits to boost tourism, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.

Beginning Sunday, 8 June, Indian tourists may enter the country without a visa for up to 14 days, provided they meet entry requirements, including a passport valid for at least six months beyond their stay, confirmed hotel accommodations, proof of financial capacity, and a return or onward ticket.The visa-free entry is non-extendible and non-convertible and applies solely for tourism purposes. Indian travelers must also have no derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration.

Additionally, Indian nationals holding valid visas or residence permits from the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, the Schengen area, Singapore, or the United Kingdom — collectively referred to as AJACSSUK — may enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 30 days.

According to the Department of Tourism, roughly 80,000 Indian tourists visited the Philippines in 2024, a 12 percent increase from the previous year.

Despite this growth, Indian visitors still represent a small share of Southeast Asia’s tourist numbers, with over five million Indian travelers recorded in the region last year, Reuters reported.

The new visa policy may be availed of at any Philippine port of entry, the DFA said.
