Infrastructure firm Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila, Inc. (AG&P) has pledged to support the country’s shift to a low-carbon, energy-secure future by advancing offshore wind (OSW) development.
In a letter of commitment dated 23 May, AG&P committed to providing critical support services — including port infrastructure, logistics, fabrication, and workforce development — to scale up OSW deployment in the country.
AG&P said it will leverage its end-to-end services for OSW, including port infrastructure for pre-assembly and staging of components, fabrication of foundations and floating platforms, and allocation of specialized facilities for large-scale equipment and vessels.
Likewise, its operations and maintenance capabilities as well as workforce development programs will help train local labor for the emerging industry.
“We commend AG&P for its proactive engagement and strong commitment to supporting offshore wind development in the country,” Energy Undersecretary Giovanni Carlo J. Bacordo said on Wednesday.
“The private sector plays a vital role in building the infrastructure backbone necessary for this kind of project, and AG&P’s demonstrated capabilities are instrumental in accelerating the realization of the Philippines’ renewable energy targets,” he added.
For Bacordo, the partnership supports DoE’s broader offshore wind initiatives, including infrastructure planning, regulatory streamlining, and public-private collaboration.
It also aligns with the DoE’s ongoing work with the Philippine Ports Authority and the Department of Transportation on developing offshore wind ports nationwide.
