A 61-year-old tricycle driver, listed as the most wanted person at the regional level, was arrested in a manhunt operation in Morong, Rizal, on Wednesday morning.
The suspect, identified only by the alias "Pinuno," was apprehended by operatives of the Cardona Municipal Police Station in Barangay San Pedro, Morong, at around 10:15 AM.
He was arrested on the strength of a warrant for alleged violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. No bail was recommended for his case.
Investigation revealed that the suspect had previously been arrested in 2013 for illegal drug-related charges. After his release, authorities believe he resumed his illicit activities, prompting a buy-bust operation in 2021. However, he evaded arrest at that time.
After several years in hiding, police finally caught up with the accused, who is now detained at the Cardona Municipal Police Station’s custodial facility for documentation and further disposition.
