National Bureau of Investigation Director Jaime Santiago presents former fugitive Negros Oriental Representative Arnie Teves in a press conference in Pasay City on Friday morning, 30 May. He is the alleged mastermind behind the killing of former Governor Roel Degamo.
Teves was apprehended in Timor-Leste on 28 May after years in hiding. He faces multiple charges, including murder in connection with the 2023 assassination of Degamo and 10 others, and the 2019 killings of three individuals. He was expelled from the House of Representatives in August 2023, and was later designated a terrorist by the Anti-Terrorism Council.
Accompanied by his counsel Atty. Ferdinand Topacio and mother Zenaida, Teves said that his "conscious is clear" when asked if he was really behind the killing of former Governor Roel Degamo. He will be transferred to the NBI detention facility inside the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, where he will first be placed in a solo room so he will be "acclimatized" to detention.

TEVES - the man on the run - is finally deported by Timor Leste to face the multiple murder charges filed against him.
IS this a silent prayer or sign of gratitude as his flight from justice has finally ended? Teves has been flown to Manila last night following deportation procedures.
TEARS of Teves flow freely as he faces the media with his mother beside him. The NBI presented him to the public during a press conference after his arrest and deportation from Timor Leste yesterday.JohnCarloMagallon
