Cebu Governor-elect Pamela Baricuatro on Tuesday formally requested assistance from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to ensure a smooth transition of power ahead of her assumption of office on 30 June 2025.

"Consistent with the guidelines provided under Memorandum Circular 2025-016 dated March 13, 2025, which tasks the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Office to directly facilitate the transition and turnover of responsibilities, I would like to seek your help on this matter," Baricuatro said.

"Earlier this morning, on this same subject matter, I wrote Regional Director Leocadio T. Trovela for his assistance. As I informed Director Leocadio T. Trovela, I have created a Transition Team to be headed by Atty. Edmund T. Lao to work with you and coordinate with the outgoing administration," she added.

Aside from Atty. Lao, a 3-term Danao City Councilor and Customs Broker, Baricuatro designated Vice Head Paulo Uy for IT and Digital, Spokesperson Ruben Licera for Media, Information, and Tourism, and members Aldwin Empaces for Administration, Atty. Rubie Virtucio for Legal and Legislation, former Sta. Fe Mayor Jose Esgana, and Ferliza Contratista for Human Resources and Communications.
