The Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) disclosed on Friday that the driver involved in the fatal car crash at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) earlier this month has been released after posting bail.
AVSEGROUP Public Information Office chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Lizel Dimaandal revealed that the driver was released from the custody of NAIA Police Station 1 following an order issued Thursday by the Regional Trial Court, National Capital Region, Branch 109, Pasay City.
“The accused posted a corresponding cash bond amounting to P100,000 for his provisional liberty,” Dimaandal said.
She added that the driver was released to his live-in partner after a physical and medical examination at the Pasay City General Hospital showed no external signs of injury at the time.
To recall, on 4 May 2025, the SUV driven by the 47-year-old man from Batangas crashed into the Departure West Curbside Area of NAIA Terminal 1. Two people died in the incident, and several others were injured.
