The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) provided 20 wheelchairs and 20 crutches to Barangay Lucsuhin, Silang, Cavite, as part of its ongoing commitment to social welfare.
In a turnover ceremony at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City, barangay chairman Arnold Garcia officially received the mobility aids from PCSO Corporate Planning Department manager Atty. Anna Liza P. Inciong.
According to Garcia, the assistive devices will be distributed to senior citizens and persons with disabilities within their community to improve their well-being.
This initiative is a crucial component of PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, which is dedicated to delivering immediate assistance to those in need. Through programs like this, PCSO continues to uphold its mission of fostering inclusivity and enhancing the quality of life for Filipinos.
As part of its commitment to improving healthcare access nationwide, the PCSO, likewise, officially turned over Patient Transport Vehicles to 16 local government units from Agusan del Sur, Cagayan and Nueva Ecija through its Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program.
Led by PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles, chairman Felix Reyes, directors Imelda Papin, Janet Mercado, and Jennifer Guevara, the turnover and blessing ceremony took place last 2 May, at the PCSO Main Office.
The beneficiaries of the donation program include the city of Bayugan and the municipalities of Bunawan, Esperanza, La Paz, Loreto, Prosperidad, Rosario, San Francisco, San Luis, Sibagat, Sta. Josefa, Talacogon, Trento and Veruela in Agusan del Sur, as well as the municipalities of Iguig in Cagayan and Peñaranda in Nueva Ecija.
Robles reaffirmed the administration’s strong commitment to accessible emergency healthcare, stressing that it remains a top priority under the leadership of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Meanwhile, the PCSO held its much-anticipated Agents’ Summit with the theme “Beyond the Jackpot: A Commitment to responsible Gaming” at the newly inaugurated Foro de Intramuros, on Tuesday, 13 May. The event gathered approximately 460 Lotto and 79 Small Town Lottery agents from across the country.
