The Department of Justice-Committee on Anti-Red Tape (DOJ-CART), in observance of the country’s Ease of Doing Business (EODB) this May, held a strategic meeting with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) on 07 May 2025 to discuss ways to streamline the Department’s services and improve its compliance obligations.
The dialogue was headed by Undersecretary Margarita N. Gutierrez. The DOJ-CART engaged ARTA Director General Ernesto V. Perez and his top management in furtherance of the strides of the Bagong Pilipinas government under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. toward providing a better quality of public service to the Filipino people.
Despite its mandate as the State’s main prosecution arm and legal counsel not falling within the ambit of ARTA, the DOJ vowed to be relentless in its efforts to streamline other frontline services and make public transactions more accessible and convenient.
Moreover, considering that the Department has ten (10) attached agencies, an in-depth discussion was also held on the complaint referral system.
ARTA Director General Perez commended the EODB initiatives of the Department, particularly in drafting the Memorandum Circular Harmonizing the Guidelines Implementing the Requirements on Republic Act 11032, otherwise known as the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 in the National Prosecution Service,” as well as its plan to implement the Online Payment System in the Department.
“ARTA commends the leadership of Secretary Jesus Crispin ‘Boying’ C. Remulla in leading the Department’s efforts to improve delivery of government services, especially in the justice sector,” Dir. Gen. Perez said.
On the other hand, Remulla expressed his appreciation for the support and guidance ARTA has given the DOJ, saying, “Thank you for being our consistent ally in delivering Real Justice in Real Time, let us continue strengthening our partnership for the welfare of our citizens.”
