If elected, Pasig mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya has pledged to transform Plaza Bonifacio into a space that benefits all Pasigueños.

“Real change comes from listening and understanding the dreams of every Pasigueño,” said Discaya, a successful businesswoman and owner of a quadruple-A construction firm.

She emphasized that Plaza Bonifacio has always been a part of Pasig’s history, a place where locals have waited for vehicles, worked, and hoped for change. “But now, we won’t wait any longer. It’s time to act. It’s time to revamp the plaza — and everyone will be involved in designing it,” she said.

Under her administration, Plaza Bonifacio will be transformed into a general transport hub, not just for traffic, but for people. The plan includes a proper terminal, waiting areas for commuters, and space for small businesses.

“It’s not just about architecture. This is design with purpose — to synchronize the city’s movement and improve livelihoods,” Discaya explained.

She stressed that the most important aspect of this transformation is that it will be shaped by the community’s voice and needs.

The first to benefit will be street vendors, drivers and workers. “Government shouldn’t just dictate — it must listen and cooperate,” Discaya said.

For her, a progressive city is one led by both a leader and its people. “Plaza Bonifacio will be a symbol of Pasig’s collective awakening,” she concluded. “This is just the beginning of a movement that’s caring, inclusive, and headed in the right direction.”
