She may not have won a congressional seat, but for Samantha Panlilio, the mission to uplift Caviteños continues, undaunted, determined, and deeply personal.
After the recent midterm elections, where she ran as the second nominee for Agimat Partylist, the former Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2021 showed grace and grit as she shared a heartfelt message that reflects both the challenges she faced and the clarity of her purpose.
“From the very beginning, even on the pageant stage, my message has always been about service, empowerment, and representing something greater than myself,” Panlilio wrote. “That purpose led me here.”
For Panlilio, who made the Top 18 in Miss Universe Philippines 2023 and proudly carried the Philippine flag at Miss Grand International 2021, politics was never about the position. It was about the vision. Her campaign focused on grassroots empowerment, especially for women, youth, and underserved communities in Cavite. She imagined better housing, livelihood programs, accessible education, and inclusive spaces where dreams could grow.
“Ang buong dahilan kung bakit ako tumakbo ngayong halalan ay dahil may vision ako ng mas magandang Cavite,” she said, sharing her hope to build a future where every Caviteño, especially the youth, can find their voice and place.
Even without a win, Panlilio is not stepping back. She continues her work through the Pangarap at Kalinga (PAK) Foundation, which recently opened two new classrooms at Ternate West High School. This is an early but meaningful step in what she sees as a lifelong commitment to public service.
“These past few months have opened my eyes,” she said. “Not winning did not break my heart, but the chance to serve you more with a congressional platform did.”
Still, her spirit remains strong.
“This run has taught me many lessons but has given me the greatest blessing of being able to touch the lives of Caviteños. This is simply the beginning, an awakening and a redirection.”
With heartfelt gratitude, she thanked supporters who walked alongside her during the campaign. “There will be no signing off as the work continues and my heart still remains the same, hopeful, resilient, ready to serve Cavite and still with a fighting spirit, until next time.”
True to her pageant roots and political promise, Samantha Panlilio stands today as more than a beauty queen. She is a woman of substance, leading not from a podium but from the ground where the hugs, the stories, and the smiles of everyday Caviteños continue to fuel her fight.
Basta Caviteña, palaban. And Samantha Panlilio is just getting started.
