Four individuals — including three senior citizens — were reported injured last Saturday afternoon when the driver of an SUV reportedly suffered a stroke and fainted, causing the vehicle to hit a parked pedicab at the corner of Onyx Street and First Street, Barangay 813, Paco, Manila.
The injured pedicab passengers, Rosario Rosales and Corazon Batrios, were thrown a distance due to the strong impact and were taken to Ospital ng Maynila.
Another pedicab passenger, identified as Senthia Di Tan, was brought to the Orthopedic Hospital.
Meantime, a certain John Patrick David, the passenger in the Geely Coolray SUV with license plate number NEW 5423, sustained injuries and was taken to Sta. Ana Hospital.
Police identified the SUV driver as Jeffry Joseph David.
According to the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit-Vehicle Traffic Investigation Section, the incident occurred at 5:15 p.m. at the mentioned location.
Police investigators said the SUV driver reported experiencing difficulty breathing before fainting, which led to his vehicle hitting the pedicab driven by Larry Lausing.
