Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla shrugged off the recommendation of Senator Imee Marcos-Araneta to investigate the Department of Justice (DOJ) and other government agencies in connection with the flight of former president Rodrigo Duterte to The Hague, Netherlands.
“Hindi ko nga alam kung totoong committee report na yun lumalabas o ano to eh. So, welcome development. Hindi naman tayo natatakot dyan (I don't even know if that committee report is real. It's a welcome development. We're not scared of that),” said Remulla in response to the recommendation of Senator Marcos.
Remulla clarified that they have done what they have to do. “Ginawa namin yung dapat gawin. At it's for the best, it's the best, to our best judgment. What's good for the country is what we did (We did what we had to do. And it's for the best, it's the best, to the best of our judgment. What’s good for the country is what we did).”
He also added that he will face the Ombudsman in case it pushes through with its investigation. “Of course. Dapat lang,” quipped Remulla when asked if he will attend the investigation.
