Production for Emily in Paris Season 5 will kick off this May in Rome before returning to Paris later in the summer — giving Emily (played by Lily Collins) just enough time to polish her Italian skills.

The new season is expected to premiere in late 2025.

Fans will be happy to know that the core cast is coming back, including Lily Collins (Emily), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Thalia Besson (Genevieve), and Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello).

Emily in Rome

Season 4 left off with Emily starting a new chapter in Italy, both professionally and personally.

After beginning a romance with Marcello, a charming Italian fashion heir, Emily relocated to Rome to help open a new branch of Agence Grateau. Although Italy will feature prominently, Star emphasized that Paris remains at the heart of the show.

Star explained that moving Emily to Rome allows the series to “stay ahead of the audience” and prove that Emily in Paris can “have a bigger footprint” without losing its Parisian essence.

Season 4’s success speaks volumes — upon its August release, it ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10, racking up 19.9 million views in just four days and making the Top 10 across 93 countries. It remained on the chart for four consecutive weeks.

Star confirmed that Emily and Marcello’s relationship would be a central theme in Season 5, teasing a deeper dive into their connection.

Of course, Emily’s love life remains complicated. In the final moments of Season 4, Gabriel — her on-again, off-again neighbor (Lucas Bravo) — realized he still has feelings for her. Although miscommunication kept them apart, Gabriel is now determined to fight for Emily.

As Emily juggles her rising career and tangled love life between two breathtaking cities, one big question remains: Will she embrace her new beginnings in Rome, or will her heart lead her back to the City of Lights?
