Comelec releases prayer for midterm polls

Commission on Elections
Published on:

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday released a prayer for the upcoming 12 May elections.

"The Commission, after due deliberation, RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to APPROVE the Ecumenical Prayer for the May 12, 2025 National and Local Elections:"

The prayer is as follows:

Almighty and Merciful God, You are the source of all authority and goodness.

We come to You with humility, seeking Your divine intervention in the conduct of the 2025 National and Local Elections.

May this day serves as an opportunity for us to embrace our differences and become a symbol of our shared commitment to democracy.

Let there be unity and cooperation among the Comelec leaders, Electoral Boards, Voters, Poll Watchers, all stakeholders and everyone else involved in this electoral process.

Grant us discernment and wisdom so that we may choose leaders who hear Your words and love Your love.

Bless, guide, and protect us from any harm and violence as we perform our respective duties and responsibilities with integrity, respect, and a genuine desire to ensure a fair, honest, orderly and peaceful National and Local Elections.

May our collective efforts reflect the will of the people and may Your divine justice always prevail.

All these we ask in Your mighty name.

Amen.

On 12 May, an estimated 68 million Filipino voters will participate in the national and local elections.

They will elect over 18,000 officials: 12 senators, 254 district representatives, 63 party-list representatives, and 17,942 governors, provincial board members, mayors, and councilors.
