BALER, Aurora — The Province of Aurora recorded a surge in tourist arrivals this Holy Week, with a total of 433,194 visitors between 12 and 18 April, according to the Provincial Tourism Office’s Holy Week and Summer Vacation (SUMVAC) 2025 report.
Of the total, 134,164 tourists stayed overnight, while 299,030 were same-day visitors enjoying a quick getaway to the province’s beaches, eco-parks and cultural sites.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for travelers, tourist assistance desks were set up in key areas across the province, in coordination with local government units. These desks offered information, guidance, and on-the-ground support to help tourists navigate their visit.
Among Aurora’s eight municipalities, Dipaculao topped the list in terms of overnight stays with 64,012 guests. It was followed by Dingalan with 27,686, and Dilasag with 17,439.
Dipaculao also led in same-day visitors, welcoming 93,945 tourists, while Dingalan drew 57,988, and Casiguran followed closely with 55,704.
Baler, the capital town and a well-known destination for surfing and beach lovers, recorded 5,116 overnight guests and 16,545 day visitors, maintaining its reputation as one of the province’s most popular tourist hotspots.
While most of the visitors were local travelers, Aurora also welcomed 506 foreign tourists and 162 overseas Filipino guests during the Holy Week period.
Tourism officials credited the strong turnout to the province’s active promotion of its ecotourism destinations, beach attractions and historic sites. They say the momentum reflects Aurora’s growing appeal as a go-to destination for both local and international travelers.
