
JOLO, Sulu — The provincial local government here has recognized the efforts of the 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade in driving positive change in the province’s security landscape and progress, and for showing respect for the cultural practices and traditions of the people of Sulu.
Sulu Gov. Abdusakur M. Tan said yesterday the provincial government has recognized the commitment, dedication, and collaborative efforts of the 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade in “weaving a remarkable tapestry of peace and development for Sulu.”
The governor said building an organized and aware society is essential to sustaining progress and described the current state of peace in the province as the “greatest gift he has witnessed in his lifetime.”
Tan believed these achievements were made possible through a united community effort as he reflected on Sulu’s journey and the significant changes the province has shown in the past years.
Lt. Gen Roy M. Galido, Commanding General of the Philippine Army, also joined Tan in recognizing the brigade’s achievements as the result of collective commitment and shared efforts among government units and the military.
Galido stressed the importance of proactive actions and strategic resource allocation in driving growth and development for the province.
1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Alaric Avelino delos Santos said his leadership embarked on a journey driven by a collective vision, which is to build a peaceful, prosperous, and secure Sulu for its people.
According to Delos Santos, his vision was born from a deep understanding of the complexities faced by the province and a recognition of the resilience and determination of its people.
