Senatorial aspirant and Makati Mayor Abby Binay secured the endorsement of Nueva Ecija on Wednesday during a meet-and-greet with local officials in the municipality of Santa Rosa.
Nueva Ecija officials expressed his full support for Binay’s Senate bid, citing her deep understanding of local government needs and her potential to be a strong voice for local leaders in the Senate.
Binay, in turn, thanked Nueva Ecija officials in attendance, pledging to spotlight pressing issues affecting local government units (LGUs) nationwide.
Binay reiterated her commitment to advocate for significant amendments to the 1991 Local Government Code to empower LGUs as key drivers of inclusive and sustainable development. She also vowed to push for legislation that enhances public services, such as free maintenance medicine, improved preventive healthcare, stronger early childhood education programs and tax-exempt overtime pay and bonuses for workers in both the public and private sectors.
