The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will deploy over 10,000 police officers across Metro Manila to ensure public safety during the upcoming Lenten season.

The deployment will cover a wide range of locations, including churches, transport terminals, malls, parks, and major roads. According to the NCRPO, 1,071 officers will be stationed at 300 churches, 791 along major roads for traffic management, 399 in transport terminals, 591 in malls and business centers, and 982 in parks and recreational areas.

To further strengthen security, 286 officers will be posted at entry points, 647 at checkpoints, and 2,068 will conduct foot patrols.

In addition, 1,993 mobile and motorcycle patrol units will boost visibility and response times. A covert red team composed of 201 members will carry out discreet security assessments, while a 1,334-strong reactionary standby force remains on alert to respond to emergencies.

The NCRPO also called on the public to remain vigilant and do their part in ensuring safety during the Holy Week observance. Travelers are reminded to perform the BLOWBAGETS vehicle safety check (Battery, Lights, Oil, Water, Brake, Air, Gas, Engine, Tires and Self). Before leaving home, residents should secure their properties and avoid oversharing plans on social media. In public areas, people are advised to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police officer.
