A Filipino-made artificial intelligence (AI) has been launched, which is expected to assist doctors in creating diagnoses for their patients.
DocMate AI System, launched by 1Life Inc., aims to reduce the typical four-day process — from a patient’s check-up to receiving a prescription — to as short as one hour.
In a statement, 1Life Inc. president Niño Namoco said that technology opens different possibilities as it further enhances the landscape of Filipino healthcare.
“Technology has proven itself to be a tool with limitless possibilities to transform healthcare. With the introduction of DocMate AI, we further our vision in ensuring access to quality care can be within reach for Filipinos, particularly those from geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas,” Namoco said, adding that the newly developed technology will be used in other parts of the country.
The group also assured that the healthcare industry will not be succumb to the addition of the AI tool, as it would “create more opportunities” for the medical profession in the longer period.
Namoco said that by facilitating the AI tool into the healthcare scene, it would lessen the burden of work for the healthcare workers, without risking the care that patients can receive.
Through the DocMate AI, a diagnosis of the patient can be easily made by interpreting the health services such as urinalysis, blood test, and ultrasound, which are launched through 1Life.
DocMate AI joins a growing roster of artificial intelligence tools transforming the healthcare industry — among them, Qure.ai, which analyzes radiology scans, and Viz.ai, used for the early detection of strokes.
