Just hours after staging a card at the Elorde Sports Center in Parañaque, Japanese boxing promoter Masayuki Ito left for Tokyo to start working on his next projects.

Ito, who briefly held the World Boxing Organization super-featherweight crown in the late 2000s, had just collaborated with Cucuy Elorde in putting up a show that featured a bevy of talents, including four-division world champion Donnie Nietes, two-time world title challenger Vincent Astrolabio and ex-world champion Yukinori Oguni and hot prospect Reito Takahashi of Viva Promotions.

Elorde said Ito assured her that they would work together again but she politely declined to elaborate.

“It would be better if he provides the information,” Elorde, daughter of boxing great Flash Elorde, told DAILY TRIBUNE on Friday, less than 24 hours after all the marquee fighters topped their respective assignments, noting how approachable and professional Ito is.

Ito heads Treasure Boxing Promotions, a fast-rising promotional company he founded just a couple of years ago.

During his brief stay in the Philippines, the 34-year-old Ito met with boxing personages and discussed possible teamups aimed at helping Filipino boxers boost their standings internationally.

With Ito impressed with his latest dealings with noted Filipino boxing figures like Elorde, it appears more fights are on the horizon.
