The Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced on Friday that it has collected over P8.3 billion in the first quarter of 2025, indicating strong progress toward achieving its annual revenue target of P34 billion.
LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, credited the success to the agency’s strategic policy implementations, such as streamlining processes to ensure transaction efficiency, as well as the aggressive enforcement of road safety regulations. These efforts have not only improved public service but also significantly boosted revenue collection.
“Malaki ang revenue target ng LTO ngayong taon at hindi naman ito basta na lang napag-isipan dahil naniniwala kami na kayang-kaya namin itong ma-achieve,” Mendoza said, underscoring the agency’s confidence in surpassing its goal.
As of March 31, 2025, the LTO has already collected a total of P8,373,775,537.00, with an optimistic outlook that the agency will meet and potentially exceed the P34 billion target by the end of the year. Mendoza highlighted that these revenues would be instrumental in further enhancing the LTO’s services and supporting government initiatives that benefit the Filipino people, particularly those in need.
He commended LTO employees for their dedication and hard work, noting that their efforts were pivotal in achieving this early success. “At this rate, kayang-kaya nating abutin ang ating revenue target, and I am optimistic that we would even surpass this,” Mendoza added.
Aside from service improvements, Mendoza has also focused on increasing employee morale, particularly through job security initiatives. Many LTO employees who had worked as job order personnel for years have been granted permanent positions. Mendoza continues to collaborate with the Department of Transportation and the Department of Budget and Management to regularize more employees, ensuring stability and security for LTO personnel.
With a strong foundation in place, Mendoza expressed confidence that the LTO’s continued growth and dedication will contribute to further success in meeting its fiscal and operational goals for 2025.
