Filinvest celebrates 70th with Night Golf at Mimosa Plus

Filinvest Group is commemorating a monumental milestone — 70 years of enabling dreams and contributing to nation-building — with the launch of Night Golf at Mimosa Plus Golf Course. The exclusive event, attended by Filinvest executives, business leaders and media partners, highlights the company’s enduring legacy of growth, progress and innovation since its founding in 1955.

“Filinvest’s 70th anniversary is a celebration of our journey — from a humble financing business to a diversified conglomerate with significant investments across real estate, banking, power, hospitality and more,” said Filinvest Development Corporation president and CEO Rhoda Huang during the ceremonial tee-off at the launch event.

“Tonight, as we light up the fairways of Mimosa Plus, we not only celebrate our history but also reaffirm our commitment to building a world-class Clark — a key driver of economic and social progress for the Philippines.”

For 70 years, Filinvest has been a leading force in nation-building, evolving from its early days in financing to a diversified group with investments that span several critical sectors of the Philippine economy. The company’s anniversary celebration not only marks its rich history but also serves as a reminder of its significant role in shaping key industries and driving development across the nation.

The launch of Night Golf at Mimosa Plus is a pivotal moment in Filinvest’s ongoing journey, emphasizing its long-term vision for Clark as a premier integrated hub for business, tourism and sustainable development. This development is part of Filinvest’s broader efforts to create lasting value for Filipinos, ensuring that its projects drive both economic and social benefits.

Mimosa Plus: A redevelopment success story

Filinvest’s transformation of Mimosa Plus is a testament to its commitment to revitalizing and reimagining key areas in the Philippines. Acquired through a public bidding in 2016, Filinvest has undertaken a complete redevelopment of the estate. “We changed roads... we redid the whole golf course. The golf course is about 130 hectares. It’s one of the biggest in the country. It’s two 18-hole golf courses, with 36 holes in total,” shared Filinvest Hospitality Corporation SVP Francis Gotianun. This large-scale redevelopment has positioned Mimosa Plus as one of the premier leisure and business destinations in the country.

Additionally, Filinvest took over the former Holiday Inn Clark and converted it into the Quest Plus Clark Conference Center. This move further strengthens the estate’s offerings, making it a key player in both the leisure and business tourism sectors.

Mimosa Plus is not just a destination for business and leisure — it’s an integrated lifestyle resort community, according to younger Gotianun. “We’ve always imagined people living here, working here, and playing here. Our Golf Ridge condominium is almost fully sold out. We are opening our mall soon. We have our hotels and golf courses, and our office buildings. So I think the community is starting to come together, and I don’t know if you noticed, but Clark has transformed tremendously since 2016,” he states.

Filinvest’s vision for Mimosa Plus is clearly coming to life, with the development becoming a dynamic and thriving community that caters to residential, business and recreational needs. Gotianun reflects on the progress made: “Everything that they have done in Clark has been quite progressive over the last nine years that we’ve been here. So we expect it to continue, but it will be getting its own momentum. And you can see that, we feel that in the air with all the energy, all the new development.”

Gotianun also highlights the increasing demand from both domestic and international locators in Clark, underscoring its potential as a top investment hub. “We’re seeing great demand, both domestic and international. We’re seeing a lot of locators coming to the good governance practices of Clark. You have great infrastructure, airport, roads, power and water, right? So, I think all the things that make for a good investment destination are here,” he says. This growing interest from locators is a clear indication that Clark is becoming an increasingly attractive place for businesses and investors.

Filinvest’s vision for Clark: Tourism, jobs, and growth

The introduction of Night Golf at Mimosa Plus is just one aspect of Filinvest’s wider vision for Clark. Mimosa Plus is the centerpiece of Filinvest Mimosa Plus Leisure City, a dynamic development aimed at transforming Clark into a world-class destination. The golf course, which features a state-of-the-art Golf Academy and a 48-bay driving range, is complemented by other key amenities such as the Quest Plus Conference Center Clark, Work Plus Office Campus and premium dining options like RARE Bar & Grill.

In line with its commitment to enhancing Clark’s tourism and commercial appeal, Filinvest is also expanding its footprint in the area with upcoming projects, including Filinvest Malls Mimosa, which will offer 21,000 square meters of leasable space, and new retail and dining options at Filinvest Shoppes Mimosa.

Filinvest’s investments in Clark reflect the company’s belief in the region’s potential to become a significant economic and tourism hub, creating jobs and opportunities that will benefit the local community and the country as a whole.

In speaking with media, Francis Gotianun shared the company’s exciting pipeline for the year, which includes the opening of Filinvest Malls Mimosa, as well as a 400-room Crimson Clark Hotel. Three new food outlets are also set to open within Clark, Pampanga. “We are also looking at expanding outside of Clark, with a hotel in Baguio to be opened later this year,” Gotianun added. In addition, Filinvest is currently undergoing an extensive renovation of its Crimson Mactan property in Mactan, Cebu, ensuring that the brand maintains its high standards across all its locations.

Mimosa Plus Golf Course, the first GEO-certified golf course in the Philippines, stands as a prime example of this commitment.
