Vice Ganda, host of It’s Showtime, swiftly shut down a fake post circulating online that falsely claimed she made a statement about former President Rodrigo Duterte’s drug war campaign.
In a Facebook post, Vice Ganda firmly stated, “FAKE NEWS!”
She warned her followers, saying, “Huwag paniwalaan ang kumakalat na pahayag na ito! Wala po akong inilabas o sinabi na ganitong statement. Maging mapanuri at huwag basta maniwala sa impormasyong walang malinaw o opisyal na pinagmulan. Please report!”
The award-winning comedian also urged her followers on X to report the fabricated post.
Meanwhile, Philippine authorities arrested 79-year-old Duterte on Tuesday upon his arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, following an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
As of this writing, the former president is en route to The Hague, Netherlands, and is expected to arrive on Thursday after a layover in Dubai.
