The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it assisted the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC) earlier this morning in implementing an Interpol Notice for former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte upon his arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from Hong Kong on Tuesday.

“To ensure a peaceful and orderly process, the PNP deployed 379 personnel at NAIA and other key locations,” the PNP said in a statement.

The organization said PNP Chief PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, along with Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director PMGen. Nicolas Torre III, supervised security measures at the airport.

“The PNP remains committed to assisting in lawful processes while maintaining peace and order. In fulfilling this role, the organization upholds its duty to enforce the law with professionalism and adherence to due process."

An Interpol Notice is an international request for cooperation in locating or gathering information about a person, often related to a criminal investigation or legal matters.

This notice allows police in member countries to share critical crime-related information.

The PNP refused to provide details of their execution of coordination for the Interpol Notice.
