  • As thousands of tourists gathered for the renowned Panagbenga Flower Festival, the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) and leading finance super app GCash joined forces to promote digital security awareness.

Their collaborative initiative aimed to educate festival-goers on recognizing and avoiding phishing scams, reinforcing the importance of safe online transactions.

Through interactive learning sessions, the PNP-ACG and GCash provided insights into common cyber threats, emerging scam tactics, and best practices for online safety.

As part of its #GSafeTayo campaign, PNP-ACG spokesperson PLt. Wallen Mae Arancillo urged the public to remain vigilant and practice proper online hygiene.

“As we continue to embrace the digital age, it is crucial for everyone to stay informed and protect themselves from cyber threats. Always verify the authenticity of messages and emails before clicking on links or sharing personal information,” said P/Lt. Arancillo.

Festival-goers also participated in the “GCash Spot-a-Scam Bingo Challenge,” an engaging activity designed to help users identify phishing tactics while winning prizes.

The initiative highlighted the importance of cybersecurity awareness in a fun and interactive manner, ensuring a safer digital experience for all.
