Tulfo dodges disqualification, vows to fight for the people

ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo yesterday thank the Lord and the Comelec First Division for dismissing the disqualification case for his candidacy on May 2025 senatorial race.

"First, I want to thank the Lord and to the First Division of the Commission on Elections rightful and fair decision not to disqualify me as a candidate in the May 2025 Senatorial race," said Tulfo in a statement.

He said the dismissal of the disqualification case against due to the failure of the petitioner to the needed requisites of the COMELEC is a showcase of the integrity of the election and the importance to follow the right process.

"I fully trust and stand to the freedon and fairness of the COMELEC. The decision showed the strong stand of the Comelec to give justice and the maintenance of our democratic institution. As a public servant, I will remain true to my job to serve with integrity, bilang lingkod-bayan, and to fully follow the law. Ang desisyong ito ay nagbibigay-daan upang lalo kong maituon ang aking oras at pagsisikap sa paglilingkod sa ating mga kababayan at sa pagsusulong ng kanilang kapakanan sa Kongreso," said Tulfo.

("I fully trust and uphold the freedom and fairness of the COMELEC. The decision demonstrates the strong stance of the COMELEC in delivering justice and upholding our democratic institution. As a public servant, I will remain true to my duty to serve with integrity and fully abide by the law. This decision allows me to focus even more on serving our fellow citizens and advocating for their welfare in Congress.")

Tulfo added, "Again my heartfelt thanks to the COMELEC for their effort to be fair in handling the case. Salamat din sa aking mga taga-suporta sa inyong patuloy na tiwala at suporta (Thank you as well to my supporters for your continued trust and support)."

The reaction of Tulfo came after the Comelec dismissed the disqualification case filed against five Tulfo family members running for seats in Senate and House.

The petition was dismissed due to its insufficient form, as the petitioner failed to provide copies of the Tulfos' Certificates of Candidacy (COCs).
