Cebu Pacific (CEB) airline has partnered with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) and SMBC Aviation Capital to support a mangrove reforestation project in Sitio Sulok, Lian, Batangas. As part of the initiative, 7,000 mangrove saplings were planted to restore coastal habitats and empower the local community.

Reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR), 27 CEB volunteers participated in the planting activity alongside representatives from SMBC Aviation Capital and RAFI.

This project reflects our strong focus on environmental stewardship and volunteerism, providing our employees with an opportunity to contribute to long-term community efforts," said Felix Lopez, CEB Chief Human Resources Officer.

SMBC Aviation Capital, one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing firms, emphasized the project's alignment with its sustainability goals.

Beyond its environmental impact, the project is expected to generate employment opportunities for the Sitio Sulok community. The Samahan ng Mangingisda sa Sulok (SAMLOK) will be responsible for the long-term maintenance of the mangrove site, including seeding production and site preparation.

The initiative is part of CEB’s broader CSR strategy, which focuses on community engagement, employee involvement, and environmental conservation.
