
ISABELA CITY, Basilan — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), through the Ministry of Health (MoH), has appointed 120 health professionals under the National Health Workforce Support System.
MoH Regional Assistant Secretary Dr. Abdulhalik M. Kasim said yesterday that the formal appointment and orientation were conducted recently at the Querexeta Formation Center in Isabela City, Basilan.
The orientation was conducted in partnership with the Basilan Provincial Health Office on 10 February, Dr. Kasim said.
Among the newly-hired personnel are 65 nurses, 22 midwives, six pharmacists, three public health associates, five senior health associates, two nutritionists, four medical technologists, six administrative aides and seven administrative assistants.
According to Kasim, the newly-hired healthcare workers will be deployed across the municipalities and city of Basilan, ensuring that even Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas receive essential healthcare services.
Kasim emphasized the government’s dedication to expanding healthcare services in the Bangsamoro region. Also present was Basilan Provincial Health Officer Dr. Shariffa Abbas-Alvarez.
Under the leadership of MoH Minister Dr. Kadil M. SInolidning Jr., the ministry has remained focused on building a strong and sustainable healthcare workforce and medical services.
Strengthening the Human Resource for Health program is part of the ministry’s broader initiative to increase healthcare accessibility, enhance service delivery and improve health outcomes across the Bangsamoro region.
MoH-BARMM remains committed to addressing gaps and enhancing the delivery of quality medical services, especially in remote communities.
The appointment and deployment of these 120 health professionals reaffirm MoH-BARMM’s commitment to ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for the Bangsamoro region.
