The Department of Education National Employees Union (DepEd NEU), the largest organization representing non-teaching personnel in the country, proudly announced a significant achievement on Friday.

Under the leadership of Education Secretary Sonny Angara, DepEd NEU secured a Collective Negotiation Agreement Incentive (CNAI), offering P10,000 for its members and P8,000 for non-members.

This milestone is a result of extensive collaboration between DepEd NEU and the DepEd management, with the CNAI grant in line with the guidelines set by the Department of Budget and Management. The initiative aims to promote employee welfare by recognizing their hard work and dedication to delivering quality public service.

In a statement, DepEd NEU President Atty. Domingo Alidon expressed gratitude to Secretary Angara for his support. “This remarkable breakthrough is a testament to the collective efforts of our union and DepEd management. As DepEd NEU president, I am committed to upholding the rights and welfare of our members,” Alidon said.

The incentive is expected to greatly benefit non-teaching personnel across the country, acknowledging their essential roles in the education sector. “Secretary Angara has demonstrated a deep understanding of the plight of non-teaching personnel and rank-and-file employees. His commitment to employee welfare has paved the way for this historic CNAI,” Alidon added.

DepEd NEU highlighted that the CNAI is a significant step towards improving the welfare of the country’s education workforce, helping them continue their vital work despite ongoing challenges. The union looks forward to more collaborations with DepEd management to further support the well-being of its members.

“We are deeply grateful for Secretary Angara’s unwavering commitment to DepEd employees. His leadership and vision have been instrumental in making this historic CNAI a reality. This achievement will go a long way in fostering a positive and productive work environment,” Alidon concluded.
