Marcos hails generals, flag officers

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday recognized the achievements of the newly promoted generals and flag officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during their oath-taking ceremony at Malacañang Palace.
In his remarks, the President emphasized how challenges shape leaders.
“In the toughest of times, leaders are those who can transform challenges into victories,” Marcos said. “Each of you here has faced significant challenges in protecting the Filipino people and our nation.”
He acknowledged the perseverance of the military leaders in strengthening the country’s security, pursuing reforms, and enhancing organizational capabilities.
“The courage, dedication and patriotism of those who have taken on leadership roles in the AFP deserve the highest recognition and admiration from our proud and grateful nation,” he added.
Marcos described the career milestone as a testament to their hard work, dedication and commitment to their duties as defenders of the country. He reminded the newly promoted officers to always uphold the core values of the AFP.
“I am confident that you will never go astray as long as you are guided by the principles of serving with honor and integrity,” he stated.
“Let us be shining examples of how a Bagong Pilipino should be: disciplined, patriotic and committed to the greater good of the nation,” Marcos continued.
The President also assured the AFP of his administration’s unwavering support.
“This administration stands with you in upholding peace, democracy, and the rule of law,” he said. “As your Commander-in-Chief, I salute you and express my utmost appreciation for your selfless sacrifices and years of service.”
Marcos also honored the families and loved ones of AFP personnel, recognizing their sacrifices in support of the nation’s defense.
