The Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) has ordered the camp of detained Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to explain a pre-recorded message aired at a Kingdom of Jesus Christ gathering and later posted on social media without court approval.
In a two-page order dated 12 February, the Pasig RTC Branch 159 stated the video, which was played on 9 February, violated the court’s guidelines as it was posted on Facebook on 10 February before being reviewed.
The Quiboloy camp was given five days to explain.
Meantime, Quiboloy’s lawyer, Atty. Israelito Torreon, claimed the video was part of the pastor’s senatorial campaign and that the court had approved Quiboloy’s messages to his supporters on 9, 11 and 13 February.
Torreon also responded to accusations of VIP treatment, citing the presumption of innocence for Quiboloy, who is facing serious human trafficking and child abuse charges and urged the Commission on Elections to conduct a manual count of ballots in the midterm elections at the precinct level.
