Much attention has been given to the North specially textiles like the Abel, which has become a nationwide household name. Aside from textiles, talent and brilliance can be found in the region. One of the seasoned fashion designers in the Cordilleras is Baguio’s pride, Harvic Dominguez. The proud Igorot, a former apprentice of Noel Crisostomo, has been with the industry awhile. He recently celebrated his 10th year in fashion with an event at the Cordillera Fashion Expo entitled “Decada.”
The talented artist’s design direction for 2025 is an exposition of tailored innovation that balances formal elegance with modern ease, showcasing a refined selection of garments for both men and women. Anchored in the traditions and culture of his roots, the collection features gowns and separates for womenswear, as well as suits, shirts and pants for menswear. Each piece is meticulously tailored and carries a sense of effortlessness, redefining formal wear.
The masterful use of materials is seen in the outstanding fusion of traditional Cordilleran weaves paired with contemporary silks and structured fabrics. The designer says:

Experimentation and unexpected combinations of three distinct hues bring a refreshing and more current appeal to the collection. While the colors do not traditionally belong to the same palette, their brilliant composition creates future forward pieces that are more stylish, practical and relevant. Beyond surface appeal, the designer has a laudable sense of patriotism and pride with an inspiring unconditional purpose.
Dominguez ends, “My commitment to innovation and cultural preservation, and ability to merge heritage fabrics with forward-thinking design is the ultimate goal.”
