The Manila Doctor Hospital (MDH) has significantly upgraded its operating facilities with the launch of Phase 2 of its newly renovated and expanded Operating Room Complex (ORC).
The 879-square-meter area features nine renovated operating rooms, bringing the total number of operating theaters to 14, up from 10.
ORC Phase 2 includes a 15-bed recovery room, two isolation rooms, and improved spaces for doctors, nurses, staff, patients, and their families.
Following the opening of Phase 1 of the new ORC in July 2024, which added five theaters, including two ophthalmology rooms, one ear, nose and throat or otorhinolaryngology theater and two minor procedure rooms, Phase 2 is part of the hospital’s plan to upscale and future-proof its facilities, according to MDH president Arlene Ledesma.
“The benefits of this renovation will extend to all those involved in surgical and medical procedures, which means that we can now elevate the level of care given to our patients and allow them to have a better healing journey,” Ledesma said at Friday’s launch.
