The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) reported Wednesday afternoon that Security Screening Officer (SSO) Bernard Luna recently returned a wallet containing P17,920 to its rightful owner — a passenger on AirAsia flight Z2430 bound for Puerto Princesa.
According to the OTS, SSO Luna spotted the wallet left behind on a blue tray while on duty at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2’s final security checkpoint. He immediately alerted checkpoint supervisor Shiela Mae Olarte, who then announced the missing item through the airline’s paging system. A foreign passenger soon approached the checkpoint, presented valid identification, and claimed the lost wallet.
OTS Administrator Undersecretary Crizaldo O. Nieves urges all passengers to double-check their belongings before leaving any airport security checkpoint to avoid losing valuables.
