Only one Filipino conglomerate, SM Investments Corp., made it to the top 20 companies in Southeast Asia based on market capitalization as of 4 February 2025, based on a regional survey of companiesmarketcap.com.
On the top 20 are five Singapore companies, five Indonesian conglomerates, five Thai firms and four Malaysian corporations
The list was topped by giant Singaporean multinational DBS, SMIC was 17th.
Market capitalization, or market cap, is the total value of a company's outstanding shares of stock, calculated by multiplying the current market price of one share by the total number of shares issued.
It represents the company's overall market value and is often used to compare the size of companies.
